Shape the Future of Public Radio: Join Our Community Advisory Board

The Community Advisory Board of the Cheyenne Mountain Public Broadcast House (CMPBH) nonprofit organization serves as the vibrant core of our outreach, providing strategic feedback on our programming and assisting in our growth. We are seeking 13 dynamic members to represent the true breadth of our listeners. The application is quick and easy with a deadline to apply of September 1, 2026, by 5:00 p.m. MST. We will respond to all applicants by the second week of September. Click here to learn more and to access the application. We look forward to hearing from you.

Our reimagined CAB is a team designed to be not only well-informed and impactful, but also a genuinely fun and dynamic group to join! While you will not act as a voting or policy-setting board, your voice carries immense weight. As a CAB member, you will provide strategic feedback on our programming, assist in growing our base of support and volunteers, and help ensure our stations are positioned for long-term success. This group will also serve as a valuable pipeline for future organizational leadership.

CAB members will represent the true breadth of our listeners serving Classical KCME, Jazz 93.5 and the entire nonprofit organization. We are looking for a vibrant mix of backgrounds and life stages, welcoming the distinct viewpoints of higher education students, established professionals, seasoned community leaders, and residents spread across our entire broadcast map—from Salida and Buena Vista to Pueblo, Walsenburg, and Castle Rock, and of course, Colorado Springs.

What to Expect:

  • A time commitment of 2–6 hours per month.
  • Monthly meetings at first (with Zoom access available to facilitate attendance for all) with the potential to transition to bi-monthly meetings.
  • Acting as advocates for our mission at community events.
  • If you are ready to make a tangible impact and be the “eyes and ears” of our listening community, we would love to hear from you.

Our History

Founded in 1977, CMPBH broadcasted a variety of classical and jazz music over the first 30 years but decided to dedicate its first station, KCME, to all classical several years ago. Now we are happy to be able to bring you a second station, Jazz 93.5 FM, dedicated to jazz 24 hours a day.

Jazz 93.5 FM is owned and operated by Cheyenne Mountain Public Broadcast House, Inc. (CMPBH), a duly authorized 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. Jazz 93.5 FM broadcasts 24 hours a day, 7 days a week in western Colorado Springs. The added ability to stream online means that Jazz 93.5 FM can be heard anywhere in the world.

From its studios located in Colorado Springs, Jazz 93.5 FM is operated by the same trusted organization that brings you the quality music you have loved for years on its sister-station, Classical KCME.  We are listener-supported, which means that operating revenues are derived from community-minded businesses and organizations in our area, local and national grants, and membership drives, which provide the lion’s share of support for the station. As independent radio station operators, we are proud to serve listeners in Colorado Springs and welcome your moral and financial support.

Jazz 93.5 has expanded its services to other communities that have expressed a desire to hear the station, with translators serving

Through our Cheyenne Mountain transmitter and a network of broadcast translators, KCME and Jazz 93.5 reach listeners in mountain and rural plains communities that would otherwise be difficult to serve. Beyond our regional footprint, our satellite transmission, internet streaming and online app ensure that our stations are heard globally. We are always looking forward and expect to expand our terrestrial broadcast to even more communities in the future.
Thank you for your interest in learning more about Jazz 93.5. We’re proud to serve communities throughout Central and Southern Colorado, and we are grateful for your support.
